Dress - TANAGRA - Long Black
The Tanagras are a look at time and space. They have always aroused my curiosity. Who were they? Where did they come from? How did they live?
This capsule collection is the result of a meeting with the new Galleria Valenciennes in Italy and Roxane Rodriguez. For her, Roxane created a genre «kitones or pleplos» timeless. She loves the lightweight of their material, the diversity of its flamboyant colors and their ephemeral movements, an invitation in the drapes of ancient Greece. Silk tunics can be worn in multiple ways using silk ties. Invisible finishes.
Renowned French interior designer Roxane Rodriguez also creates a beautiful limited collection of her brightly hued tangara dresses for galleria valencienne in voluptuous haute couture silk.
Roxane is inspired by the tanagaras drawn by their lightness and femininity of the material with a yearning to curl up in the drapes of ancient Grece with elegance.
Where does my passion for Tanagras come from?
A crossroads:
One of the houses I dream about most is the Villa Kerylos in Villefranche sur mer, whose architect is Emmanuel Pontromeli. Built between 1902 and 1908, this villa was built in the Greek tradition of the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. In addition to the beauty of the volumes and the extreme refinement of the space, it is filled with copies of ancient Greek masterpieces, as well as excavation objects, since its patron was none other than the great archaeologist Théodore Reinach. My gaze was caught by a very special tanagra. Tanagras are small figurines found in Greek necropolises. I know that my passion for tanagras stems from the beauty and tranquility of this place. I started collecting tanagras about ten years ago. In the course of my research, I came across a book about Tanagras, and at the end of the book, a text by Salomon Reinach (Theodore's brother) entitled "La petite Tanagre, un roman métaphysique de l'amour platonicien". I realized that Sigmund Freud had also been interested in this text, and I discovered during the "Freud, du regard à l'écoute" exhibition organized by Jean Clair at the Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme, where he had reconstructed his office, that he too had a beautiful tanagra.
